Dr. Robert Iezman has been in private practice since 1988 and has been proudly serving the Berkeley, CA community with exceptional orthodontic care since 1995. His dedication to his craft, extensive education, and commitment to teaching have made him a respected figure in both the local and broader orthodontic communities.
Education
Dr. Iezman’s educational journey is extensive and impressive:
- Undergraduate Degree: Dr. Iezman received his degree in Psychology/Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
- Dental School: He continued his education at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
- Teaching Career: Upon graduation, Dr. Iezman was offered a position as an Associate Professor at UCSF, where he taught oral radiology and emergency dental care.
- Orthodontic Residency: After practicing general dentistry for two years, Dr. Iezman began his Orthodontic Specialty Residency at UCSF.
- Private Practice and UCSF Faculty: After completing his orthodontic training, Dr. Iezman continued to practice orthodontics in private practice while also returning to UCSF as an Associate Professor. He taught advanced dental care and worked with a team of specialists to address complex dental issues.
In addition to his private practice in Berkeley, Dr. Iezman served as a Full Clinical Professor at UCSF for 30 years, contributing significantly to the education of future orthodontists and dental professionals.

Currently, Dr. Iezman is the Chairman of the Berkeley Dental Society Ethics Committee and is calibrated for Orthodontic Peer Review by the California Dental Association.
On a Personal Note
Dr. Iezman is very active outside his orthodontic practice. He enjoys many outdoor activities, including scuba diving, surfing, backpacking, skiing, snowboarding, and fishing. In addition to his love for the outdoors, Dr. Iezman is also a music enthusiast.
