At what age do you start seeing patients?
We typically evaluate young patients when their 6-year molars emerge and their front permanent teeth start to appear, usually between ages 6 and 8. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children be evaluated by age 7.
Why do you evaluate patients so young?
Early evaluations allow us to observe and discuss potential needs without necessarily starting treatment right away. Occasionally, early intervention is beneficial, but the primary goal is to identify any issues early. We can assess habits, review medical considerations, and set up an observation schedule until the patient is ready to begin treatment.
How long will the first visit take?
The first visit typically lasts between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the patient’s needs and the doctor’s recommendations. We may perform a visual exam and discuss findings or, if necessary, suggest X-rays and other diagnostics, including impressions and photographs, to document the current state of the teeth.
Do you take patients transferring from out of town?
Yes, we welcome transferring patients and treat them like new patients. We’ll gather comprehensive diagnostic records to assess their current status and design a plan to complete their treatment.
Do you have any adult patients?
Absolutely. Many of our patients are adults, and in fact, the American Association of Orthodontists reports that one in four orthodontic patients is an adult. Today’s Cosmetic options make adult treatment more comfortable and discreet.
What is the difference between an orthodontist and a dentist?
An orthodontist is initially trained as a general dentist, then completes at least two additional years of full-time orthodontic training to earn a specialty certificate. Orthodontists focus exclusively on aligning teeth and dentofacial orthopedics.
Can I make all my appointments in the afternoon after school and late in the day?
While we try to accommodate after-school and late-day appointments, some longer procedures must be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for optimal availability. We’ll do our best to work with your schedule and accommodate your needs.

Can we make payments?

How do you handle insurance?
Once coverage is verified, we can bill your insurance carrier. If coverage changes or ceases, however, the patient is responsible for the agreed-upon fee.
Do you accept American Express, MasterCard, and Visa?
Yes, we accept all major credit cards.
Do you offer direct debit?
Yes, we offer direct debit options, credit card payments, and online payment options for your convenience.

No, we do not charge interest on payments.

I need to be pre-medicated for dental visits. Should I take my medication before visiting the orthodontist?
Yes, please take your medication before your orthodontic appointments as well.
Do retainers need to be worn after braces?
Yes, retainers are typically worn full-time for about six months, then at night indefinitely. Your orthodontist will provide guidance on retainer wear after treatment.
Why do teeth get crooked after wearing braces or aligners?
Teeth naturally shift over time as part of the aging process, which is why wearing a retainer is recommended indefinitely to maintain your treatment results.
