Meet Dr. Iezman

Dr. Robert Iezman has been in private practice since 1988 and has been providing orthodontic care to the Berkeley, CA community since 1995.

Education

Dr. Iezman received his undergraduate degree in Psychology/Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles after which he moved from Los Angeles to the Bay Area to attend dental school at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). After Dr. Iezman received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCSF he was offered and accepted an Associate Professor position teaching oral radiology and emergency dental care at the UCSF School of Dentistry. Dr. Iezman both taught at UCSF and practised general dentistry for two years after which he began his Orthodontic Specialty Residency at UCSF.

After Dr. Iezman completed his orthodontic speciality training he worked as an orthodontist in private practice and was promoted to Associate Professor at the UCSF School of Dentistry where he was responsible for teaching the orthodontic component of complex multi-disciplinary dental care in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry post-graduate residency program. In this capacity, Dr. Iezman worked with a team of three other highly skilled dental specialists, also UCSF Professors, in providing advanced care for patients with difficult complex dental problems.

In addition to providing orthodontic care to the Berkeley community in his private practice, Dr. Iezman taught at UCSF for thirty years where he attained the title of Full Clinical Professor.

He has served as Director at Large, Secretary, Treasurer, President-Elect and President of the Berkeley Dental Society and as a delegate to the California Dental Association House of Delegates. Dr. Iezman is currently serving as the Chairman of the Berkeley Dental Society Ethics Committee and is calibrated for Orthodontic Peer Review by the California Dental Association.

On A Personal Note

Dr. Iezman is very active outside his orthodontic practice. He enjoys many outdoor activities including scuba diving, surfing, backpacking, skiing, snowboarding and fishing. He also enjoys both listening to and playing music. Dr. Iezman has played drums for many years and still plays actively with a blues/rock band.
